Gerard and Jacintha welcome you to Elderslie Guest House. Elderslie is a warm, family run B&B, which is in a beautiful, quiet location within easy reach of Oban centre (about a 20 minute walk) and perfectly placed for taking the ferries out to the islands.

We offer comfortable, affordable rooms with en-suite, free WiFi and Freeview TV. Continental breakfast is included and a packed breakfast/lunch can be provided on request. We have free off-street parking and a secure garage for motorcycles and bicycles.

The local cycle track passes our door taking you on a scenic route down to town. We can assist with dinner reservations and give tips on how to make the best of your stay in Oban.

We are situated only 5 minutes walk from Oban & Lorn General Hospital so we are in a great position for guests wishing to visit loved ones but need to stay overnight.

Quick Day Trips from Oban (Short Ferries/Tours):
    • Kerrera: Oban’s closest neighbour, great for walking and cycling, with Gylen Castle ruins.
    • Lismore: A long, low island known for its wildlife, history, and cycling.
    • Mull: A major island with stunning scenery, beaches, and the colourful Tobermory; a key hub for further island travel.
    • Iona: Accessed via Mull (Ross of Mull), famous as the cradle of Christianity in Scotland.
    • Staffa: Known for its dramatic basalt columns and Fingal’s Cave, often visited with Iona on boat tours.
  • Treshnish Isles: Boat trips from Oban in summer offer puffin viewing (April-August).
Longer Journeys (Direct Ferries from Oban):
  • Coll & Tiree: Further west, these are magical islands known for white sands, sunshine (Tiree), and wildlife spotting (dolphins, whales).
  • Barra: Accessible via a longer ferry journey from Oban.

Very Good B&B Fantastic Service

I stayed here for a couple of nights and the place was spotless and it came with great friendly service. The room was spacious and the en-suite was a good size with gleaming facilities. Breakfast was excellent. It is situated a 20 minute walk from town and did this many times during my stay and it’s a pleasant walk. Would definitely recommend this place to others.
